WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
We understand that the first step in seeing a psychologist can often feel like the hardest. Whether it takes a lot of courage to reach out or you’ve simply decided that it’s time for change, please know that we are here to support you every step of the way. Seeking help isn’t always easy, and our aim is to make the process as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

Making Your First Appointment
You are welcome to contact us directly, whether you have a referral from a GP, employer, or other agency, or whether you’re self-referring. While referrals aren’t necessary, we encourage clients to explore available financial support options:
-
Medicare Rebates: Some clients are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP, which can provide a rebate.
-
Other Agencies: Clients may also be supported through Work Cover, DVA, or insurance agencies.

We are happy to discuss which option might suit your circumstances best.

Getting Started

At Mind Matters NQ, our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment from the very first interaction. You don’t have to do this alone—we’re here to help.
